01 / A SMALL JOB THAT GROWS
THE POTATO PLEASE GAME CONCEPT.
The official premise puts you in charge of potato preparation for a fictional army. Pick up potatoes, peel them by hand, and put them into the water. Physical tools and the effort to avoid waste make the manual task the starting interaction.
The operation then grows: improved tools, bulk collection and machine processing take over more of the repeated work. That is the confirmed direction of the game, rather than a promise about a specific machine, unlock order or ending.
For practical steps, read the first-shift guide. For the correct release, price and demo status, use the Steam guide. The game’s official description treats its nations, institutions, characters and events as fiction.
BETWEEN POTATOES / LIGHT STORY CONTEXT
THERE IS A LIFE AROUND THE PILE.
The peeling loop sits inside a fictional military depot, rather than an empty score screen. The inspected creator captions include incoming letters, requests for money and a puppy that can be fed. Those interruptions give you something to consider between equipment purchases.
Sonoket's letter discussion around 13:20 and FungalBrainRot's dog-food discussion around 53:15 are early reference points. These are caption-based observations; this guide does not prescribe a story choice or reproduce the letters.
Checking a machine objective? The official 1.0.1 hotfix notes also distinguish potatoes peeled by the puppy from machine output for quests. If you are checking a machine objective, do not count the puppy as your automatic peeler. For equipment progression, use the expanded tools and machines guide.

03 / KEEP THE STATEMENTS ATTACHED TO THEIR SOURCES
WHY THE “COPY” & “CLONE” SEARCHES?
The short answer: there is a documented allegation and denial, not a finding that copying occurred.
There was a public dispute about two potato-peeling projects. A September 22, 2026 Dexerto report identified them as Rado Klasa’s 1,000,000 Potatoes and Golden Horn Studios’ Potato Please. The original statements were also checked directly for this guide.
21 SEP 2026 / THE ALLEGATION
Rado Klasa said his concept had been copied.
In his original post, Klasa connected his concept to a GMTK game-jam project and alleged that it had been cloned. This confirms what he alleged; it does not establish that the allegation is true.
21 SEP 2026 / THE RESPONSE
The Potato Please account denied the allegation.
The game’s account responded directly, saying it had not seen Klasa’s game before the posts and that Potato Please developed independently from a potato meme and video in its community. This is the developer account’s stated position, rather than an independently proven history of the project.
What can this guide conclude? The allegation and denial are documented. We have not audited either project’s files or development history, so this page does not label either game a proven copy or clone. Similar subject matter and the existence of a public dispute do not settle that question.
Primary statements: Rado Klasa’s September 21 post and the Potato Please response. Reporting context: Nathan Warby, Dexerto, September 22, 2026. Checked November 5, 2026.
04 / BACK TO THE WORKBENCH
LOOKING FOR THE GAME ITSELF?
The official title is Potato Please, by Golden Horn Studios. If you arrived through “Potatoes Please”, “potatoe please game” or a similar spelling, match the studio and Steam app 5266240 before treating another result as the same game.
“Potato Pleasers” was not verified as an official alias. The exact phrase returned unrelated products in the checked search, so it is not used as the game’s name here.
